Alternative Strategies

Dynamic Opportunities Portfolio (Long/Short) seeks to generate attractive, non-correlated, absolute total returns investing in the real estate sector, including REITs, REOCs, homebuilders, developers, residential and commercial construction companies, and real estate services companies.  The strategy tends to focus on smaller cap companies, which typically receive less sell-side research coverage and have lower levels of institutional ownership, which often leads to greater opportunities to find mispriced securities and generate strong returns.  The portfolio invests opportunistically and is managed with a modest net long bias.

Real Estate Contrarian Value Portfolio (Long/Short) is managed with a net short bias and invests in short positions in companies which have a combination of negative investment attributes, including overvaluation, poor business strategies or management, have overleveraged capital structures, low quality assets, or face other idiosyncratic risks.  The portfolio also invests in long positions in related sector ETFs and options for hedging purposes.  The strategy is focused on delivering attractive, non-correlated, absolute returns investing in the real estate sector, including REITs, REOCs, homebuilders, developers, residential and commercial construction companies, and real estate services companies.
